Road Trip Wednesday: Spin-off Characters

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

This week they want to know which supporting character would you like to see in a novel of their own.

I'd go for Alice from The Twilight Saga. She was my favourite character, and she'd have a lot of potential as a primary character.

What about you?

  1. Ooh, good choice. I have such a soft spot for Alice. So much cooler than Bella ;)

  2. That's the second time I've seen Alice from Twilight so far :D She's a great character. I'd like to learn more about Jasper, though. His historical background is pretty interesting.

  4. Alice would be much better than Bella. Or Edward.

  5. I feel like Twilight has a ton of worthy characters--I'd be curious to read a book about the Cullen parents.

  6. I'm an Alice fan too. In fact, I think she's way more interesting than Edward. Would love to hear more from her.

  8. Good choice! She's one of the few three-dimensional characters that's also likeable in that series. In fact, she's quite lovely.

  9. Hm, I'd pick the bad vampires. They must do a lot of exciting stuff, right? :)

  11. I'm going to branch off to television series and say that I'd like Flash from Smallville to have his own series.

  12. Ooh, I like this choice! For some reason Alice didn't even occur to me. Her backstory (assuming she remembered it!) would be fascinating. Something tells me there's probably a fanfic (or two-hundred) out there addressing this very story line. :)

  13. I love Alice! Her story does show up in the secret life of Bree Tanner, I believe. Somewhere I read her story and her parents. I also like Luna in Harry Potter, she would be a great lead character too so would Neville!

  14. I would love to dive into Alice's backstory and her relationship with Jasper. A little fan fiction, perhaps?

The Quileute would make for a fascinating read. My favorite novel of the series was New Moon because of the background story of Jacob's tribe. It doesn't hurt that I'm also Team Jacob.
