Winter Is Coming

I quite like the motto of House Stark in Game of Thrones, 'Winter Is Coming'. It feels like winter has arrived early in Ireland, with grey skies, incessant rain and cool temperatures. It's not just a blip, the weather has been like this for the past couple of weeks. There's a reason why the Romans called Ireland Hibernia, land of winter.

I haven't been writing on my blog much this week, mainly because I've had a bit of a stomach bug. Also because there hasn't been much to say. My writing is go okay, I haven't had any feedback from potential agents, and I'm really busy with the copy for the beer festival.

Tonight I'm heading out to a comedy show and a tapas bar, which I'm really looking forward to. Spanish food and comedy shows are two of my favourite things, so I'm looking forward to that. I have a huge amount of writing to do before I get to that point though, so I better get going.

Hope you're all having a good day :)

  1. Christine, I hope you're recovered from the stomach bug. Those are never fun. Have some Spanish food for me, I miss it.

  3. Hope you're feeling better! I wish it felt like an early winter here. Today is actually the coldest day of this week in Iowa. It's only gonna be 91 degrees, instead of 105-110 degrees. Unbearable hot. Writing is much easier when it's too hot to go out. :)

  4. Christine,
Have I told you that your blog is one of my favorites? I think it's because of your voice, and the fact that I connect with that you write every time you post. I think that's because we're both querying: you're my comrade at war. And, I may not live in Ireland, but where I live in Washington State, we, too, have had weeks of unseasonable rain. I like the summer sunshine, it's my reward for living here and putting up with the rain the other ten months of the year, but I do love the rain. I think I'd LOVE Ireland. It's on my "Must See List" before I die.
    Good luck with your querying!

  5. Feels similarly here in Seattle and we're supposed to be in the middle of summer! I keep thinking I should go out and buy a Christmas tree.

  7. Hope the stomach bug is better! It can be hard to blog sometimes, eh? Sometimes I run out of content, too. Tricky to know whether to blog ANYWAY, or relieve my readers.

Have a great time with Comedy and Tapas!!!

  8. I hope your tummy is doing much better! It is about 100 degrees with high humidity and high heat index so it feels about 110 degrees! Ugh, we need some rain because my grass is completely burnt. The weeds are still green, but the grass is burnt brown. I hope you have a good time tonight!!

  10. I live in WI (US/Canada border). It was under 50F a couple of weeks ago and rainy and dreary. Having moved from the here from the US/Mexico border that is WAY too cold. I hope winter doesn't come for a while. I'm still defrosting.

I found you on Catherine's blog and am a new follower.
