Judging Books Completely By Covers

Road Trip Wednesday is a ‘Blog Carnival,’ where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question that begs to be answered. In the comments, you can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.

This week they want to know your all time favourite book covers. As it's 'YA' Highway, these are some of my favourite covers from young adult novels.

As you can see I have a thing for paranormal/dark fiction/steampunk ya fiction. I'm not all that gone on contemporary YA.

Which of the above (if any) do you like?

  3. Oh, I'd forgotten about Fallen. We all have such different lists. Of course, we could all go on and on. Fun post!

  4. The Hourglass cover is so awesome :) And I actually was choosing between Fallen and hush, hush in a bookstore and chose hush, hush solely on the cover. Fallen's cover is gorgeous, too, though :D

  5. I really like the cover for Hourglass--it looks like a Surrealist painting to me. All great choices!

  8. The Fallen novels really do have gorgeous covers. I love the first one, but I think Torment's image is even better.

  9. All these covers are simple, yet a little unnerving! They do a great job of hinting at the stories within. Love the selection!

  10. Great choices! I was going to put Divergent on mine, but opted for Insurgent because I love the Amity tree symbol.

  12. My favorite or your choices are Fallen and Carrier of the Mark. I just love the expression and movement in both of them. Plus, Fallen is just so nice and spooky.

  14. I really love the Divergent cover. I haven't seen the Carrier of the Mark cover before, but it's stunning!

  16. I LOVE the fallen cover. That's the only reason I got the book and read it! I didn't even open the page to read a snipit.

  17. I liked all of them. You have great taste in book covers ;) I'd never heard of The Iron Thorn, but after seeing the cover, it just went on my reading list (all the others are already on it, except Divergent since I've read it)

  18. Tough choice between The Iron Thorn and Fallen, both are just evocative, beautiful and make me want to read the books.
