1: My husband, obviously.
2: Roxie my Labrador. Of course, she should really be saving me Lassie style, but as my girl is afraid of her own shadow that's not going to happen.
3: My netbook. All my work is on it and, though I have everything backed up, I'd hate to loose it. Not to mention the expense of getting another one.
To be honest, but boring, I can't think of anything else. Material possessions? Apart from my netbook, I can't prioritise them. And if my husband and dog are ok, I couldn't really ask for more than that.
What about all of you? What would you save?
I <3 my netbook. It's so much easier to lug around than my old laptop ^_^
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! Who wants to die in a fire for a bunch of stuff? My list includes my family, my SB Drive (all my writing is on it), and my cat, who also wouldn't be saving me Lassie style.
ReplyDeleteI put my husband on the list too, but I'd assume he'd be hauling butt out of that fire with me grabbing him or not!
ReplyDeleteYeah, family, pets, computer would be my top ones also... I've also got some photo albums and family jewelry... the trouble, of course, is I have to get to every corner of the house for that trek...
ReplyDeleteDude, my husband would be dragging me out - I'd be too busy trying to save all the memories from my kids' rooms. :)
ReplyDeleteYes. If hubby and my stories are both safe, then I'll survive.
ReplyDeleteGood list, and I agree. As long as everyone is safe, that's the most important thing.
ReplyDeleteYou're so much more mature than me, Christine. My first thought was Xbox360! No - My entire bookshelf! But that stuff, of course, is replicable. Husbands and pups, not so much.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen Bolt? The dog was afraid of everything but still managed to save his owner in a fire. Don't count your dog out. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you: Material possessions aren't important if someone does or catches on fire. My first reaction would be to get out.
My paintings, my laptop, my hubby, my keepsake box, and books.
ReplyDeleteYou're right--people count, possessions don't. Good choices!
ReplyDeleteAll your items are on my list as well. Probably add things like important documents - marriage license, titles, deeds, etc. if given enough time to pull together. Should probably get a fireproof safe one of these days...
ReplyDeleteLaptop, photo albumns, my daughter's musical instruments, certificates are good too.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely grab my netbook and also my purse. My purse contains my flash drives, which contains my masterpieces! :)
ReplyDeleteI would say my laptop and my purse. Other than that, everything else is replaceable. I agree with your choices too. My laptop has precious pictures of my mother on it so I would have to save those, although come to think of it, they are on face book so I would still have them. Hmm, my purse then
ReplyDeleteMy laptop (of course to save all my works), and probably... well, nothing else unless I was at my parents house, I'd make sure to grab my siblings and my dog.
ReplyDeleteAwww, your response is so sweet! I think I am way too superficial and reading your post helped to make me think about what's really important. Thanks for that :)
ReplyDeleteGood question. What writer's not gonna say their laptop, though? That's #4 on my list, after my hubby (although I hope he's getting himself out and I don't have to grab him) and my two kitties. The only other things I can think of are, say, the wedding quilt my husband's grandmother made for us, or the 10-ft long, 18in wide scarf I knit for myself with expensive yarn.
ReplyDeleteHubby the cats, plus our passports, mobile phones and I'd want a warm coat. :O)
ReplyDeleteI so hear you in the netbook! Also, my phone, my husband (of course), um... um... my Kindle... think that's about it! :)
